Amputation and limb loss claims

To give you an idea, loss of a leg with amputation above the knee can see awards of £91,910 to £120,530, while the loss of a thumb could see awards from £31,140 to £48,080.
Is there a time limit for making an amputation claim?
Most claims for amputation or loss of limbs need to be made within three years of the accident or injury, but there are some exceptions.
For example, a child amputee will have three years starting from their 18th birthday. If a person's mental capacity is diminished and they are unable to make their own decisions, then there is no time limit.
